1) Pedestrian Travel

• Creation of Ruth’s Trail, a wooded and road-side trail connecting all Avon schools from Roaring Brook to Thompson Brook and on to the RtoR connection
• Walking School bus programs and Volunteer Safety patrol to encourage walking and biking to elementary schools
• Pedestrian Infrastructure, including sidewalks, crosswalk and bike paths

2) Outdoor Education

• Creation of the Unplugged (outdoor) Classroom at Roaring Brook
• Development of teacher training materials and ‘Place-Based’ curriculum to support the existing outdoor classroom at Pine Grove School and the one being built at Roaring Brook School
• Research potential sites for outdoor learning/gathering space at Avon Middle School

3) Unplugged Infrastructure

• spaces to be used for Unplugged learning & recreation
• Family Camp sites near Fisher Meadows
• Butterfly Garden
• General Upgrades to Countryside Park

4) Unplugged Events

• Spring and Fall community events using ALT properties and trails
